I was practicing with my new Essie _Aruba Blue_ and noticed that it looked like a sibling to my red COVERGIRL Outlast _forever festive_ — they are both basic colors, both have a frosted finish (light metallic shimmer) to them, and the formulas apply the same (and both are fantastic) — so I decided to use them together in the design.
I’ll start by saying that today was a very bad Nail Day — it seemed like I was having issues over and over again, but I kept moving forward because I was determined to see _Aruba Blue_ on my fingers !
Today I also tried taping using my new 3M 471+ blue vinyl tape.

I started with a base coat of Nail Tek _Intensive Therapy_. _Unfortunately found out later that it can be more challenging when putting Essie _There’s no Place Like Chrome_ on top of the Nail Tek. Next time I will leave out the base coat._
Then I applied two coats of Essie _There’s no Place Like Chrome_ . Even though one great thing about this polish is that it dries very quickly, I gave myself some extra drying time because of the new tape.
After the chrome dried, all that was left was to apply the color to each tip — Essie _Aruba Blue_ and COVERGIRL Outlast _forever festive_. I cut some inch-long strips for the taping and set them one-by-one on each nail making adjustments as necessary.
Once the tape was in place, I applied one quick coat for each of the colors, waited about ten seconds, then slowly pulled off the tape. After all fingers were complete, I waited under the dryer until the colors were ready for a coat of Seche Vite.

Though not one of my favorite designs, one cool thing about it is that it reminds me of the awesome Japanese superhero _Ultraman_ that I used to watch when I was younger.
